These usually are opportunites for funding or other types assistance that are brought to the attention of the Planning Department and that may be available to community based groups.

- Grants and other planning or project implementation assistance opportunities that are based on or promote the Principles of Smart Growth.
- National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration(NOAA) Funding Programs
- The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has funding programs for 2010. This folder contains the information sheet for the Crest Grant Program and an announcement of a upcoming NOAA Information & Proposal Writing Workshop 2010. The CRest Grant Program funds projects that help communities become more resilient to the treats posed by coastal hazards.

Community Garden Grant
- The Food & Nutrition Service is requesting applications to enter into a cooperative agreement for the purpose of awarding grants to develop and run community gardens at eligible high-poverty schools; teaching students involved in the gardens about agriculture production practices, diet, and nutrition; contributing produce to supplement food provided at eligible schools, student households, local food banks, or senior nutrition programs; and conducting an evaluation of funded projects to learn more about impacts of school gardens.

- eCivis is a grant search engine that the County of Hawaii offers to qualified non-profits. Applications can be obtained from the Department of Research and Development. This folder contains notices and training schedules from eCivis.
