File Opening of the New Pahoa Vehicle Registration and Drivers License Office
Effective February 7, 2011 the Pahoa Vehicle Registration and Drivers License office will be open adjacent to the new Pohoa Police Station. The office will be open from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm Monday to Friday.
File Keaau Water Spigot to Close for Upgrades
The Keaau Water Spigot will close on February 14, 2011 for upgrades. The water spigot is located at the Keaau Transfer Center.

Council Member Brittney Smart will host four Mass Transit Community Discussions in District 6. Transit Operations Administrator Tom Brown will be available to discuss the Hele-On Bus System and other issues pertaining to mass transit on Hawaii Island. File Statewide Pedestrian Master Plan - Draft
The state Department of Transportation, Highways Divsion, has released a draft version of the Statewide Pedestrian Master Plan, a planning document aimed at decreasing pedestrian injuries and fatalities staewide. The Plan identifies the most critical needs of the state's highway system infrastructure, including safety improvements or repairs, and will provide guidance for future projects to address the problems. The draft Plan is available for review now through Sept. 30, 2011 and can be accessed at www.hawaiipedplan.com.
